Desperate to try and clinch back-to-back Premier League wins this weekend, Leicester will make the trip to an already-relegated Watford on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Watford might have managed to snatch a point at home against Everton earlier in the week, it does not cover what has been another hugely downbeat campaign for the Hornets. Failing to find any kind of boost since bringing in one-time England boss Roy Hodgson, their immediate relegation back to the Championship was confirmed after their 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace last weekend. Managing to muster just a single point from any of their last seven Premier League contests, a run that stems back to the middle of March, Watford have also gained a real reputation for their rather glaring issues at Vicarage Road. With their 0-0 stalemate against Everton in midweek the only clean sheet they have recorded on home soil this season, Sunday’s hosts have also failed to pick up a victory in front of their own fans since opening 2022.
As for the visitors, managing to make a much-needed return to winning ways earlier in the week, Leicester will simply be hoping to sign off their disappointing campaign with a flurry. Knowing that the best they can settle for this season is a top-half finish, Brendan Rodgers’ side did at least pick up a 3-0 romp at home against Norwich last time out. Smelling the chance to secure back-to-back Premier League for the first time since the start of March on Sunday afternoon, the one-time Liverpool boss should be boosted by a rampant record against the Hornets. Storming their way to a 4-1 victory at the King Power on January 8th while on FA Cup duties, it should be noted that Leicester are unbeaten in each of their previous four meetings against Watford, recording three wins. While Rodgers’ side might have shown some extended issues this season, we’re backing an away victory here.
