Manchester City are in pole position to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022, according to Sky Sports. It has been reported that defending Premier League champions City are the favourites for the striker should he decide to leave German club Dortmund at the end of the season.
Haaland, who is one of the best and most prolific strikers in the world, will hold talks with Dortmund to decide his future in the next two weeks. The 21-year-old striker is not going to leave this month, but a £64 million release clause in his contract will become active in the summer of 2022.
The Norway international striker has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 12 Bundesliga matches for Dortmund so far this season. Haaland has scored three goals in three Champions League games so far this campaign.
