Chelsea have secured the future of promising young forward Jesse Derry by signing him to a new contract extending until 2032. Following this milestone, Derry has been loaned out for the upcoming season to Sporting CP, offering him valuable playing time after a breakthrough campaign that featured his FA Cup debut and first Premier League start.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have placed a €50 million price tag on winger Alejandro Garnacho after he failed to report back for preseason training. The club is prioritizing his departure, signaling a clear intent to move forward without the player. This stance comes amid interest from various clubs and a strategy to reshape the squad under new management.

Transfer Market Maneuvers and Squad Reshaping

The Blues are actively exploring several transfer options to strengthen their squad, particularly targeting wide positions and defensive reinforcements. Among the potential signings, Crysencio Summerville stands out, valued at approximately €58 million, with both Manchester United and Liverpool also reportedly tracking the player following West Ham United’s relegation. Alongside Summerville, Chelsea are eyeing Jonathan Rowe from Bologna and Francisco Trincao of Sporting CP as additional options for the wings.

On the defensive front, Chelsea have already secured Marco Palestra and continue to pursue further acquisitions to bolster both centre-back and left-back positions. At the same time, several players are expected to depart; Marc Cucurella has already left, and reports suggest Andrey Santos is close to a €58 million move to Manchester United. Another defender, Trevoh Chalobah, has drawn significant interest from Inter Milan, who remain undeterred despite Chelsea’s €35 million valuation. Chalobah has given his approval for the transfer, and Como has also shown interest in the player.

Amid these developments, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano clarified that Chelsea have not made any official bid for Mexico international Julian Quinones, whose current club Al-Qadsiah considers him untouchable. This confirms that Chelsea’s focus remains on squad trimming and measured recruitment rather than pursuing every rumored target.
