During the height of FIFA World Cup excitement, Dallas Trinity FC underwent significant changes in ownership and management. On June 30, Atlético Dallas finalized the purchase of the Dallas women’s soccer club, bringing both teams under the umbrella of USL Dallas, LLC.

A Bold Ownership Shift for Dallas Women’s Soccer

Atlético Dallas, set to join the USL Championship as an expansion team in 2027, is now the controlling entity behind Dallas Trinity FC. The women’s side will continue competing in the USL Super League, adjusting to a shortened fall 2026 season due to scheduling conflicts with the men’s FIFA World Cup. Starting in 2027, Dallas Trinity FC will adopt a spring-to-fall competition calendar, while maintaining their home fixtures at the Cotton Bowl Stadium.

Shortly after the ownership transition, on July 2, the club named Lee Nguyen as the new manager and technical director for the first team.

Nguyen brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served five seasons as an assistant coach across four NWSL clubs. Among these stints, he was part of the Washington Spirit coaching staff during their successful 2021 championship campaign. His playing career spanned 17 years, featuring professional spells in Major League Soccer, Vietnam, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

Over his career, Nguyen made المزيد than 250 appearances for MLS teams including the New England Revolution, LAFC, and Inter Miami CF. Additionally, he earned nine caps representing the United States Men’s National Team.

Nguyen’s Hire Comes During FIFA World Cup Fever

The appointment of Lee Nguyen comes at a moment of heightened interest in soccer, as the global stage of the FIFA World Cup captivates fans worldwide. This strategic move signals Dallas Trinity FC’s ambitions to build on their foundation and leverage Nguyen’s extensive expertise as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
