For the first time in the history of the event, the 2027 Tour de France Femmes will feature a stage through the heart of London, showcasing the capital’s most iconic landmarks. The route, officially announced on الخميس, includes an 18-kilometer team time trial scheduled for August 1st, weaving through historic sites such as Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral, and concluding on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.
This London stage marks a significant milestone for the women’s race, which continues to expand since its 2022 revival. The inclusion of the British capital is part of a broader three-day sequence in the UK that kicks off the race’s British leg on July 30th with an 87 km opening stage from Leeds to Manchester. The following day, a 154 km ride leads the peloton to Sheffield, tracing roads last used by the men’s Tour de France in 2014.
Britain Hosts a Dual Grand Départ
In a historic move, Britain will become the first country outside France to host the Grand Départ for both the men’s and women’s editions of the Tour de France in the same summer. While the men’s race has visited the UK before, the 2027 Tour de France Femmes marks its inaugural British appearance, signaling growing international recognition of the women’s event.
Following the London time trial, the race will cross the الإنجليزية Channel and head to France, where the riders will face a challenging mountainous stage toward Clermont-Ferrand. This leg features المزيد than 3,000 meters of elevation gain, with the decisive battle for the yellow jersey expected on the slopes of the Puy de Dôme, a legendary climb in the race’s history.
The newly revealed itinerary adds nine stages to the race, underscoring its rapid growth and increasing complexity. The 2027 edition promises to be one of the most ambitious yet, blending urban spectacle with demanding terrain across two countries.
