Dominant Performances Propel Svitolina and Noskova Forward

In the afternoon session at the Steffi Graf Stadion, sixth seed Svitolina faced off against German wildcard Eva Lys. From the outset, Svitolina dictated play with precision, delivering eight aces and 22 winners throughout the contest. Despite Lys mounting pressure late in the second set and earning eight break points, Svitolina expertly saved all but one, eventually sealing a 6-3, 6-2 victory in 69 minutes. This result marks Svitolina’s eighth quarterfinal appearance of the 2026 WTA season.

Earlier in the day, Czech player Linda Noskova, seeded eighth, dispatched French qualifier Diane Parry with an equally commanding performance. Noskova maintained flawless service games, facing no break points and conceding only eight points on serve. Her clinical approach resulted in a 6-2, 6-2 win in just 67 minutes, securing her fourth quarterfinal berth of the year.

Looking ahead, Noskova is set to challenge wildcard entry Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals, while Svitolina will await the outcome of the clash between second seed Elena Rybakina and Alexandra Eala.
