Geno Auriemma, the renowned head coach of the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team and a 12-time national champion, is expanding his presence beyond the court this summer by launching a new بودكاست. This development comes shortly after his recent return to the ESPN broadcast booth for a special one-night assignment.

During an appearance on Richard Deitsch’s Sports Media بودكاست, Auriemma disclosed that he has already recorded 12 episodes for his latest audio series. Unlike his coaching career, the بودكاست shifts focus away from basketball, instead exploring the journeys and mindsets of high achievers from various fields. This thematic choice reflects a continuation of his previous بودكاست work from 2017, Holding Court with Geno Auriemma, which featured a diverse lineup of guests such as Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, and former National Security Advisor Susan Rice.

Exploring Excellence Beyond the Hardwood

According to Auriemma, the new بودكاست deliberately avoids centering on basketball. “It’s not necessarily about basketball at all,” he explained. “I bet you we’ve had maybe two basketball people on, the rest is about people who have reached a certain level of excellence and asking them things relative to that so that people watching can say, ‘Yeah, that applies to me too.’ It’s just fascinating for me to listen to these people.”

This approach aims to provide listeners with insights into the motivations and habits that drive success across a wide spectrum of professions and disciplines, making the conversations relatable and inspiring for a broad audience.

Alongside this media venture, Auriemma’s brief reappearance in ESPN’s broadcasting booth signals his ongoing involvement with the sport from multiple angles, balancing his coaching responsibilities with growing engagement in sports media.
