Valve has officially announced the launch date and pricing details for the much-anticipated 2026 Steam Machine, a new AMD-powered living room PC designed to deliver a seamless PC gaming experience outside the traditional desktop setup. Mark your calendars for June 30, when the device will become available to consumers.

The Steam Machine will arrive in two configurations distinguished primarily by their storage capacity and whether they include the optional Steam Controller. The base model offers 512GB of storage, while the higher-end version boasts up to 2TB. Pricing reflects these differences as well as the inclusion of the controller.

Valve has revealed four purchase options for the Steam Machine, emphasizing flexibility for gamers who may or may not want the Steam Controller bundled with their system. The pricing tiers are as follows:

  • 512GB Steam Machine: $1,049
  • 512GB Steam Machine with Steam Controller: $1,128
  • 2TB Steam Machine: $1,349
  • 2TB Steam Machine with Steam Controller: $1,428

Additionally, purchasers of the 2TB model will receive two interchangeable faceplates, offered in “Red Fabric” and “Solid Walnut” finishes, enhancing the aesthetic customization of the device.

Pre-orders for the Steam Machine will open five days prior to launch, on June 25. To avoid the logistical challenges experienced during previous Valve hardware releases, the company will implement a reservation system to regulate demand and ensure a smoother purchasing process. The reservation window will close promptly at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET on June 25.

Once this registration period concludes, Valve intends to allocate Steam Machines as fairly as possible, moving away from a traditional first-come, first-served model to better accommodate interested buyers.
