As the WNBA season passes its midpoint, a clear separation is emerging between the top championship contenders and the rest of the league, prompting significant shifts in betting odds across major sportsbooks.

In a remarkable rise for a franchise only in its second year, the Golden State Valkyries have climbed to fourth place on the championship odds list, surpassing the Atlanta Dream. Both FanDuel and DraftKings now list Golden State at +900 odds to claim the title.

Leading the pack are the Minnesota Lynx with odds of +160, followed by the Las Vegas Aces at +310 and the New York Liberty at +450. The Dream rounds out the top five with 13-1 odds, reflecting their position as a strong, yet somewhat trailing, contender.

Mid-Tier Contenders and Long Shots

Among the teams vying for a surprise run, bookmakers are split on the sixth-best championship chances. FanDuel currently favors the Indiana Fever at +1700 over the Dallas Wings, who stand at +1900. In contrast, DraftKings offers an even split between the Fever and Wings, both listed at +1800.

Beyond these teams, the remaining franchises face steep odds, with most set at +15,000 or longer, indicating the sportsbooks’ view of their slim chances to win the championship.

The title of season’s longest shot is disputed between sportsbooks as well. FanDuel places the Portland Fire, a newcomer to the league, at a staggering +50,000 odds, while DraftKings assigns the lowest odds to the Connecticut Sun, who currently sit at the bottom of the standings, offering them a 1000-1 chance to secure the championship.
