Construction has officially begun on the OhioHealth Training Grounds, the new dedicated training facility for the Columbus NWSL expansion club, marking a significant step toward the team’s anticipated debut.
Programmé to open its doors in Janvier 2028, this extensive 45,000-square-foot complex is designed to offer a comprehensive range of amenities for players and the local community alike. Among its standout features are a spacious weight room, a full-service café, a content creation studio, childcare facilities, and dedicated areas for rehabilitation and meetings.
Beyond the indoor facilities, the grounds will boast six fields—three natural grass pitches and three turf fields—intended to support youth programs and community engagement initiatives, reinforcing the club’s commitment to fostering local soccer development.
Commitment to Excellence and Community Engagement
Jessica Berman, the NWSL Commissioner, emphasized the importance of providing top-tier resources for athletes, stating, “World-class players deserve world-class facilities.” She highlighted the OhioHealth Training Grounds as a meaningful investment in the environment necessary for player success and growth.
As the construction progresses, the OhioHealth Training Grounds stand to become a central hub for the club’s operations and a valuable asset for the broader Columbus community, setting a new standard for training infrastructure within the league.
