Gina Kim and Yana Wilson secured their inaugural victories on the LPGA Tour at the 2026 LPGA Dow Championship held at Midland Pays Club. The two former teammates from the Epson Tour showcased remarkable synergy as they dominated the final leaderboard on Sunday.

Having developed their game side by side on the Epson Tour, Kim and Wilson translated their shared experience into a formidable partnership under the intense pressure of a final round. Their mutual understanding and support proved crucial in navigating the course and the competition.

Kim’s pivotal moment came with an eagle on a par-5 hole, a swing that shifted the momentum decisively in their favor. Following that, both golfers relied on their combined strengths to maintain their lead through the back nine.

For the 26-year-old Kim, this victory represents a significant turnaround after a challenging period. During the 2024 season, she made only six cuts in 18 starts and entered the Dow Championship struggling with three consecutive missed cuts. The triumph marks an important milestone in her career.

Wilson’s journey to this point took a different route. Initially committed verbally to the University of Oregon, she opted to turn professional immediately after high school. Through successful navigation of the LPGA Q-Series, she earned her Epson Tour membership and steadily advanced to the LPGA level.

The timing of this team win is notable, arriving as the 2026 LPGA Tour prepares for an intense stretch featuring three major championships within five weeks. Both players’ Epson Tour experience, as Wilson noted, helped build the resilience and competitive edge necessary at this elite level.

“I feel like the Epson Tour kind of paved the way for us just to be comfortable out here,” Wilson said. “It really just teaches you how to win and be gritty out there.”
