In a notable midseason roster adjustment, the Las Vegas Aces have waived guard Chennedy Carter, a player who had been contributing an average of 12.2 points per game off the bench. This move was announced on Mardi alongside the signing of former Indiana development player Justine Pissott.

During the 2026 regular season, Carter appeared in 13 of the Aces’ 21 games. Her return to the team started on a promising note, with head coach Becky Hammon highlighting Carter’s scoring prowess early in the campaign. However, Carter’s court time has noticeably diminished in recent weeks.

Chennedy Carter Moves on to 5th WNBA Franchise in 5 Seasons

The 27-year-old guard missed seven of the Aces’ 12 games in June, absences attributed to illness and a persistent lower leg injury. This latest development marks Carter’s fifth team in as many WNBA seasons, having previously played for the Atlanta Dream, Los Angeles Sparks, Chicago Sky, and now Las Vegas.

Beyond the WNBA, Carter has also pursued opportunities overseas, notably sitting out the 2023 and 2025 WNBA seasons to compete internationally. Her departure leaves the Aces searching for a player who can fill the void left by her speed and scoring ability as they prepare for their upcoming game against the Portland Fire.

The Aces will face Portland on Jeudi, with tip-off scheduled for 10 PM ET and live coverage available on League Pass.
