Among the most notable revelations during the panel was the announcement that Simon Pegg will lend his voice to the Balrog, the fearsome creature that awakened beneath the Misty Mountains at the end of season two. This ancient being’s emergence was triggered by the Dwarves’ relentless mining for mithril, setting the stage for intense confrontations in the episodes ahead.
New Faces and Rising Stakes
Alongside Pegg’s casting, Prime Video unveiled several new additions to the season’s ensemble. Veteran actor Eddie Marsan will take on the role of Thrain, the elder brother of King Durin IV.
