JuJu Watkins, a standout player for USC women’s basketball, played a pivotal role in recruiting one of the nation’s top prospects, Saniyah Hall, to the Trojans. The recruitment unfolded during the recent Overtime Select Takeover event, a premier showcase for elite high school talent across the country.
During the event, Watkins, who also coached Hall, actively encouraged the highly ranked guard to commit to USC. Speaking to CBS Sports, Watkins admitted she was persistently advocating for Hall to join the Trojans’ program.
Shortly after the event, Hall made her commitment official and has now signed with USC, further strengthening the team’s promising lineup.
Hall, Watkins Usher in New Era for USC Women’s Basketball
The 6-foot-1 guard from Ohio arrives at USC with a wealth of experience on the international stage. Hall was named the MVP of the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup, where she posted impressive averages of 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.9 steals per game, playing a key role in Team USA’s gold medal victory.
Watkins expressed admiration for Hall’s versatility and strength, emphasizing her ability to command attention on the court both in the post and from the perimeter. “She’s a very all-around player,” Watkins noted, highlighting Hall’s capacity to influence the game in multiple ways.
Hall’s addition to the roster, combined with Watkins’ continued presence and the arrival of top 2025 recruit Jazzy Davidson, has given coach Lindsay Gottlieb one of the deepest and most talented squads in women’s college basketball.
