Alexandra Eala and Emma Raducanu have secured seeded positions for the 2026 Wimbledon Championships following impressive performances on grass courts this season.
With her breakthrough form, Eala earned the No. 29 seed, marking her first-ever Grand Slam seeding. Meanwhile, hometown favorite Raducanu claimed the No. 30 seed, setting the stage for both players to make significant impacts at the All England Club.
Alexandra Eala & Emma Raducanu See WTA Rankings Boosts
The rise in their WTA rankings reflects solid results during the grass-court swing. Eala’s standout moments included a semifinal appearance at the Berlin Open and capturing a WTA 125 title in Birmingham, signaling a breakout phase for the young talent.
Raducanu’s journey was highlighted by reaching the final at Queen’s Club, her sole warm-up event before Wimbledon in 2026. Both athletes enter the tournament with momentum and valuable experience on grass.
Eala made history last year as the first Filipina in the Open era to compete in Wimbledon’s main draw. Although she was eliminated in the opening round by former champion Barbora Krejcikova, her performance demonstrated her potential at the highest level.
Raducanu’s connection to Wimbledon runs deeper. She reached the fourth round on her main-draw debut in 2021, replicated that feat in 2024, and last year was ousted in the third round by world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
Seeded between 25 and 32, both Eala and Raducanu are slated to face Top 8 opponents by the third round, presenting challenging early encounters for some of the tournament’s top-ranked players.
