Caitlin Clark, guard for the Indiana Fever, secured a starting position in the 2026 WNBA All-Star lineup, despite a surprising lack of strong support from her fellow players.
Although Clark was highly regarded by fans and media—ranking second in fan voting and third among media members—her peers placed her only 11th among guards in the player voting segment. This discrepancy highlights a significant divide between public perception and player opinion.
Player Voting Reveals Unexpected Ranking
Clark currently averages 20.5 points per game, ranking sixth across the league, alongside an impressive 8.2 assists per game, which is second-best overall. Despite these strong individual statistics, the player vote did not reflect her production on the court.
Out of the league’s 180 players, 85 participated in the All-Star voting process, each selecting four guards. Analysts suggest that the relatively low turnout combined with players’ tendencies to favor teammates or familiar rivals may have influenced the results, contributing to Clark’s lower player ranking.
