The newly launched WTGL indoor women’s golf league has revealed its broadcasting team as it prepares to debut its first season this Novembre on ESPN and ION. This announcement highlights a fresh approach to coverage, featuring a predominantly female commentary lineup.
New Faces to Call WTGL’s Inaugural Season
Leading the broadcast team are former collegiate golfer Emilia Doran and Taylor Tannebaum, a host from ACC Network. Tannebaum will serve as the sideline reporter for seven broadcasts across ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2, conducting player interviews between holes and guiding viewers during commercial breaks.
For ION’s seven match broadcasts, Addie Parker, known for her work with the golf outlet Skratch, will take on sideline reporting duties. This mix of commentators aims to bring new voices to the forefront rather than relying on familiar LPGA coverage personalities.
Jeff Neubarth, Vice President of Contenu at TMRW Sports, emphasized this strategy in an interview with Front Office Sports, stating, “We wanted to use voices that are not the main voices that you already know and love on LPGA coverage. We wanted to use some different voices.”
WTGL draws inspiration from the popular men’s TGL format, incorporating a blend of live and simulated gameplay. The league features five teams—Motor City, Boston Common, New York, Atlanta Drive, and Los Angeles—each composed of top LPGA stars.
The first WTGL season will showcase elite talent, including world No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul, Anglais standout Lottie Woad, reigning Olympic champion Lydia Ko, and golf legend Michelle Wie West. These players are set to compete in the league’s inaugural campaign, which officially kicks off on Sunday, Novembre 5.
