Hideo Kojima, the acclaimed game developer, unveiled a major casting announcement during the 2026 Tokyo Game Show Xbox presentation. The Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård, well-known for his role as Pennywise in ‘It’, has been confirmed as the lead star of Physint, Kojima’s upcoming action-stealth video game described as “Metal Gear-style.” This project is being developed in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios.

The revelation came alongside Kojima’s enthusiastic remarks about the creative process. He highlighted the strong mutual respect between himself and Skarsgård, noting their long-standing admiration for each other’s work. Earlier this year, Kojima conducted costume fittings, scans, and camera tests with Skarsgård and Charlee, which greatly solidified his vision for the game’s direction. The recently released teaser visual even features a photograph Kojima personally took during one of these sessions.
