Kiyomi McMiller delivered a spectacular performance Thursday night, scoring a career-high 42 points to propel the Florida women’s basketball team to a commanding 95-65 victory over UCF in Gainesville. The junior guard dazzled from beyond the arc, sinking 7 of her 10 three-point attempts, while also contributing four steals to help secure the win as the SEC powerhouse improved to 2-0 on the NCAA season.

McMiller’s Remarkable Night and Team Effort Propel Florida

McMiller’s 42-point haul ranks as the fourth-highest single-game scoring output in the history of the Florida program, falling just three points short of Quientella Bonner’s school record set in 1977. Coming off a 31-point performance in the season opener, McMiller has now joined an elite group as only the fifth Gator ever to post back-to-back 30-point games.

“From the beginning our mindset was to kill ’em and don’t stop,” McMiller said. “Just keep attacking them, just keep going until they stop me.” Her determination set the tone for the entire squad, which matched her intensity throughout the contest.

Supporting McMiller’s breakout showing was Vivian Iwuchukwu, who scored a career-best 20 points on nearly flawless shooting after missing two practices due to illness. Additionally, Jade Weathersby achieved her first double-double as a Gator, contributing 10 points and 11 rebounds. Florida’s dominance extended to the boards, where they controlled rebounds 49-25, establishing a significant edge over the Knights.

The Gators pulled away decisively with a 28-11 run in the second quarter, building a lead they would maintain for the remainder of the game. On the opposing side, UCF’s leading scorer Key Roseby found it difficult to keep pace with Florida’s relentless offensive and defensive pressure.
