Linda Nosková secured a straight-sets victory over Thailand’s Lanlana Tararudee in the second round of the 2026 US Open, advancing to the third round with a 6-4, 6-2 win on Wednesday.
The sixth seed extended her impressive Grand Slam streak to nine consecutive match wins, a run that began with her Wimbledon triumph earlier this summer. This performance also marks her second consecutive year reaching the third round in New York.
Linda Nosková Dominates in 2026 US Open 2nd Round Play
Nosková asserted control from the outset at Louis Armstrong Stadium, delivering 25 winners and seven aces during the 78-minute contest. Her precise and aggressive play proved too much for Tararudee, who, despite a strong first-set effort, was unable to maintain momentum as Nosková elevated her game in the second set.
Lanlana Tararudee, currently ranked No. 76, was making her debut in the US Open main draw after a breakthrough season highlighted by two WTA 125 titles. However, the 22-year-old Thai player could not withstand the consistent pressure applied by Nosková.
Nosková’s Grand Slam achievements this year continue to grow; she now boasts 11 match wins in major tournaments—a personal best—and leads the tour with 88 aces across the Grand Slams in 2026.
Looking ahead, Nosková will face the No. 29 seed Ann Li for a place in the round of 16. The two players have met earlier this season, with Nosková prevailing in a three-set second-round encounter.
