In a significant development for volleyball enthusiasts in Minnesota, the state’s Major League Volleyball expansion team has officially announced its rebranding. Formerly known as MLV Minnesota, the franchise will now compete under the name Minnesota Forge, with their inaugural season scheduled to begin in January 2027.

The choice of the name “Forge” carries meaningful symbolism, reflecting the qualities of resilience and strength that emerge through enduring pressure and purposeful effort. According to team president Michelle Haines, the name embodies “resilience, craftsmanship, and the strength that comes from community,” highlighting the core values the organization aims to represent.
The team’s color scheme also complements this theme. It features a palette that includes deep greens alongside shades inspired by natural phenomena and local flora: Northern Lights purple, Lady Slipper pink, Night Sky, and Snowfall. These colors pay homage to Minnesota’s diverse and rich natural landscape, further rooting the team’s identity in the state’s heritage.
