Interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) has emerged around Atlético Madrid captain and club legend Koke, as revealed by Matteo Moretto during his appearance on Radio MARCA’s La Pizarra. The Italian journalist disclosed that Atlanta United has already made inquiries regarding the Spanish midfielder’s status, initiating contact with Koke’s representatives to explore the possibility of a transfer.
Atlanta United’s Move for Koke
Moretto specified that the MLS club has directly approached Koke’s camp to understand his contract terms and prospects for departure. “An MLS team has just asked Koke’s camp about his situation and his exit terms,” he reported, identifying the team as Atlanta United. According to Moretto, the American side is actively seeking to persuade Koke to consider leaving Atlético Madrid at this stage.
Despite the external interest, the ultimate decision remains firmly with Koke himself. Moretto emphasized the strong bond between the player and Atlético Madrid, noting that this relationship will ensure all parties handle the situation with mutual respect. “It depends only on Koke. There is such a strong relationship with Atlético that all parties will understand each other. Ultimately, it’s up to the player,” he stated.
Alongside this development, Moretto also confirmed that Atlético Madrid continues to pursue reinforcements in midfield, indicating ongoing activity in the transfer market as the club seeks to bolster its squad.
