Naomi Osaka secured her place in the semifinals of the 2026 Bad Homburg Open after a commanding victory over Ekaterina Alexandrova. Completing the match in just 59 minutes, Osaka triumphed with a straight-sets win of 6-2, 6-2, edging closer to her first-ever grass-court final.

Naomi Osaka Continues Dominant Grass-Court Run

The match began with Osaka conceding an early break, placing her briefly behind in the opening set. However, she swiftly turned the tide, capturing eight consecutive games and an impressive streak of 15 points in a row to seize the first set and surge to an early 3-0 lead in the second.

Despite Alexandrova managing to hold serve twice toward the end of the match, she was unable to halt Osaka’s momentum. The former US Open champion controlled the remainder of the encounter comfortably, closing out the victory without facing significant resistance.

Reflecting on her performance, Osaka acknowledged her relative inexperience on grass but expressed confidence in her current form. She credited her coach, Tomas Wiktorowski, who joined her team last July, for helping her adapt effectively to the grass surface.

As the tournament’s sixth seed, Osaka has yet to drop a set in Bad Homburg, having previously defeated Magdalena Frech (6-4, 6-1) and world No. 26 Elise Mertens (6-3, 6-3). With Wimbledon just days away, the world No. 15 appears to be hitting peak form at a crucial moment in the season.
