Nottingham Forest have secured the signing of Colombian right-back Daniel Muñoz, agreeing to a three-year contract with an option for an additional season. The 30-year-old defender joins the City Ground as a key reinforcement for Oliver Glasner’s squad.
Muñoz arrives following a successful stint at Crystal Palace, where he joined in January 2024 from Belgian club Genk. Quickly establishing himself as a regular starter, Muñoz played a pivotal role in one of Palace’s most memorable seasons.
A Season of Triumphs
During the 2024/25 campaign, Muñoz was instrumental in Crystal Palace’s historic FA Cup victory. He provided the crucial assist for the only goal in the 1-0 final win against Manchester City, earning the Player of the Match accolade for his outstanding performance.
His influence extended throughout the season, culminating in him being honored as Palace’s Player of the Season. Following the FA Cup success, Muñoz also contributed to the club securing the Community Shield.
Last season, Muñoz continued to impress by scoring four goals and delivering three assists in 29 Premier League appearances. In total, he featured in 46 matches across all competitions, playing an important part as Crystal Palace lifted the UEFA Conference League trophy.
Before making his mark in English football, Muñoz spent nearly four years with Genk, starting in 2020. At the Belgian club, he was known for his attacking prowess from the full-back position, netting 16 goals in 122 appearances. He was also part of the squad that won the Belgian Cup in 2021.
Muñoz began his professional career in Colombia, debuting for Águilas Doradas in 2017 before moving on to Europe and eventually to the Premier League, where his recent accomplishments have significantly raised his profile.
