The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has officially ended its partnership with the streaming service Victory+ due to unpaid fees, terminating their media rights agreement less than a full season after its inception. This decision marks a significant shift in how fans will access league matches moving forward.
Starting this Sunday, every game that was previously broadcast on Victory+ will now be available for free on NWSL+, the league’s proprietary streaming platform. This change ensures that viewers will continue to have uninterrupted access to the full slate of NWSL matches, just on a different service.
How to Watch NWSL Games for Free on NWSL+
Victory+ had struggled financially for several months, failing to meet its payment obligations to league partners since February and encountering difficulties in securing new investment. This financial instability led other sports franchises, including Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers and the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks, to discontinue their relationships with the streaming platform prior to the NWSL’s departure.
Under the Victory+ agreement, fans had access to a Sunday night package along with dozens of additional regular-season games — totaling 57 NWSL matches through 2027. This arrangement was intended to streamline viewing for fans amid a growing 16-team league that now features a 248-match calendar. However, the platform’s ongoing issues ultimately compelled the league to bring all streaming content in-house.
Despite this realignment, the NWSL’s existing broadcast contracts with networks such as CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video, and ION remain unaffected by the transition away from Victory+.
