The Orlando Pride have announced the dismissal of Seb Hines as head coach amid a disappointing run that has seen the team sink toward the bottom of the NWSL standings this season.
Hines, who famously guided the Pride to the 2024 NWSL Shield and championship victory, has endured a difficult campaign in 2026, with the club suffering 12 losses so far. This downturn in results ultimately led to the decision to part ways with the manager.
General Manager Caitlin Carducci acknowledged Hines’s significant contributions, stating in an official team release that he “will always have a special place in our history for helping lead the Pride to levels it had never reached before.”
Interim Leadership Steps In
Hines’s departure concludes a lengthy association with Orlando, which began in 2018 when he joined the organization as an assistant coach following his playing career with Orlando City. His tenure has been marked by notable successes as well as recent struggles.
Taking the reins on an interim basis is assistant coach Yolanda Thomas, who now faces the challenge of turning around the team’s fortunes. With the offensive firepower of star striker Barbra Banda, Thomas will aim to revive Orlando’s 2026 season and steer the club away from its current slump.
