The Ottawa Charge have confirmed their relocation to the Canadian Tire Centre as their primary home arena beginning with the 2026-27 PWHL season. This move marks a significant upgrade from their previous venue and is expected to impact the league’s schedule moving forward.

Having played the first three seasons at TD Place, the Charge will now host all home games in an NHL-standard facility that also serves as their official practice and training center. This transition comes amid planned redevelopment at TD Place, but more importantly, it responds directly to the increasing demands of fans in Ottawa.

PWHL Schedule 2026 Shifts with New Venue

During six appearances at the Canadian Tire Centre, the Charge drew an average attendance of 13,641 spectators per game. Notably, a game on April 3 against the Montreal Victoire attracted 17,114 fans, while the PWHL playoff match on May 18 set a record crowd of 16,894 attendees. These figures underscore the growing popularity of the team and highlight the necessity for a larger arena.

General Manager Mike Hirshfeld emphasized that moving to the Canadian Tire Centre allows the Charge to accommodate more supporters while enhancing the environment for players. He acknowledged the critical role TD Place played in the team’s early achievements and expressed gratitude for the vibrant atmosphere generated by fans during those formative years.

With this relocation, the Ottawa Charge position themselves to build on their momentum, aiming to set new attendance records and provide an elevated experience for both players and fans in the upcoming seasons.
