The Premier Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) is on the verge of unveiling the official names and jerseys for its four new expansion teams. Internally, the franchises based in Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose have finalized their identities, with a public jersey reveal scheduled ahead of the league’s training camps opening on November 18th.

Expansion Teams Prepare for Official Unveiling

While fans will not immediately see the new team names on the ice during games, the expansion clubs will maintain the PWHL’s signature style of featuring city names displayed diagonally across their jerseys. The complete names and uniforms of these teams are planned to debut in the 2027/28 season. This approach aligns with the league’s current branding, where franchises such as the Charge and Torrent adopt abstract and distinctive team names.

Each expansion franchise has already confirmed its color scheme, setting a visual identity that complements the PWHL’s established aesthetic. Detroit will wear black and silver with accents of white and red, presenting a sleek and bold look. Las Vegas has chosen a striking combination of green and gold, highlighted with an unexpected navy trim. Hamilton, joining the Eastern Conference lineup, features gold, maroon, and cream tones. On the West Coast, San Jose will sport orange, blue, and white.

These four additions will compete alongside existing teams during a robust 180-game regular season, which is set to begin on December 5th and continue through April 18th. With the names ready for announcement and colors locked in, the PWHL is steadily shaping the next exciting chapter in its growth.
