Real Madrid have secured the transfer of Sergio Martínez from Racing de Santander by activating the midfielder’s three million euro release clause. The promising 19-year-old, originally from Laredo, will join Real Madrid Castilla and will also have opportunities to train with the club’s first team.

Martínez broke into the spotlight this season after making his debut in La Liga with Racing de Santander, scoring a goal following the club’s promotion from the Segunda División. His rapid rise has impressed Real Madrid enough to offer him a contract extending through 2030.

Transfer Details and Farewell from Racing

The transfer was officially confirmed by Racing de Santander in a statement explaining that the Madrid-based club fulfilled the payment of the full release clause in a single installment. “Racing and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Sergio Martínez,” the club announced. “The Madrid club undertakes to pay, in a single installment, the full amount set as the release clause in the contract linking Real Racing Club and the player. By virtue of this, the footballer from Laredo leaves the green-and-white club.”

Racing de Santander also issued a heartfelt farewell to Martínez, acknowledging his contributions to the team and wishing him success in his new chapter with Real Madrid.
