Real Madrid has officially secured the signature of international full-back Marc Cucurella, who has committed to the club on a six-year contract running until June 30, 2032.

The transfer deal with Chelsea was finalized at a fixed fee of 55 million euros, with potential add-ons that could increase the total to 60 million euros. At 27 years old, Cucurella returns to Spain’s La Liga after five seasons in the Premier League, which included four years at Chelsea and a season on loan at Brighton.

Rapid Negotiations Conclude in Just 48 Hours

The signing process unfolded at remarkable speed. According to reports from MARCA, the deal was completed within 48 hours. It began on a Friday night when Real Madrid submitted their initial offer. The transfer accelerated the following day, when José Mourinho personally contacted the player. This direct intervention helped secure Cucurella‘s approval by Sunday morning, concluding one of the summer’s most swiftly executed transfers.

Real Madrid managed to outpace rivals Atlético Madrid and Barcelona, both of whom had shown strong interest in the player. Although Cucurella‘s future initially seemed destined for the Metropolitano Stadium, the entry of the capital club altered the trajectory, bringing the full-back to the Santiago Bernabéu instead.
