Simone Biles, the celebrated Olympic gold medalist, is making a notable return to the public eye as she headlines the 2026 Pacers Foundation Softball Classic at Victory Field in Indianapolis. This event comes after Biles underwent a medical procedure in late July, following a serious health scare in June during which she described feeling as though she was “almost dying.”
Despite the recent challenges, Biles appears to be on the road to recovery and is set to participate alongside a star-studded lineup of athletes and entertainers. Joining her on the field is her husband, Colts safety Jonathan Owens, marking another joint appearance for the couple after they were seen together at the 2026 ESPY Awards red carpet.
Celebrity Athletes Rally for Charity in Indianapolis
The annual charity softball game features two teams captained by prominent Indiana sports figures: Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton and Colts quarterback Daniel Jones. The event supports the Pacers Foundation’s community initiatives throughout central Indiana, bringing together a mix of professional athletes and entertainers in a spirited competition.
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens will take the field with Team Haliburton, which also includes players from the Indy Ignite, Indianapolis’s Major League Volleyball franchise. Opposing them, Team Jones boasts Olympic gold medalist goalkeeper Briana Scurry, Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith, and additional members of the Indy Ignite.
Adding to the event’s energy, former Colts punter Pat McAfee will serve as emcee, guiding the festivities and engaging with fans throughout the charity game.
