As November 2026 progresses, the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) has completed two of its five scheduled benefit payments for the month, covering both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs.

These payments are part of the regular distribution to millions of Americans, with Social Security encompassing retirement, disability, and survivor benefits, while SSI supports low-income individuals over 65 or those with disabilities.

Payments Already Distributed for November 2026

The earliest payment for November went out on October 30, when the SSA issued benefits to SSI recipients. This early distribution was due to November 1 falling on a Sunday, prompting the agency to process payments a day in advance. SSI, which serves more than 7.3 million beneficiaries nationwide, provides an average monthly benefit of $735.86. Unlike Social Security, SSI eligibility is not tied to an individual’s work history but focuses on financial need and disability status.

Following this, on November 3, the SSA released Social Security payments to a specific group of recipients: those who began receiving benefits before May 1997. This date also marks the payment run for certain long-standing Social Security beneficiaries, illustrating the SSA’s structured schedule for disbursing funds to different cohorts throughout the month.
