The Social Security Administration (SSA) is set to distribute the latest round of Social Security payments for August 2026 in the coming week, continuing its structured payment schedule for millions of beneficiaries across the United States.
Each month, over 71 million Americans receive Social Security benefits, with payment dates staggered throughout the month based on recipients’ birthdays. For August 2026, the SSA will make payments on three different Wednesdays, aligning with the birth dates of the beneficiaries.
Scheduled Payment Dates for August 2026
This month’s payment timetable is organized as follows: recipients born between the 1st and 10th of any month will receive their benefits on Wednesday, August 12. Those born between the 11th and 20th will be paid on Wednesday, August 19, while individuals with birthdays from the 21st to the 31st will see their payments on Wednesday, August 26.
It is important to note that for Social Security benefits based on another person’s work record, the payment date is determined by that person’s birthday rather than the beneficiary’s.
Aside from the regular Wednesday disbursements, certain long-term recipients have a different payout date. Specifically, individuals who have been receiving Social Security since before May 1997 were scheduled to be paid on Monday, August 3.
