Next week, millions of Social Security beneficiaries across the United States will receive their November 2026 payments earlier than usual, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) initiates its monthly three-Wednesdays payment schedule.
Adjustments Due to Veterans Day
Typically, Social Security payments are disbursed on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of each month, with recipients’ payment dates assigned based on their birthdates. However, this November, the payment cycle will shift slightly ahead of schedule because the usual second Wednesday falls on Veterans Day, a federal holiday honoring U.S. armed forces members.
As a result, beneficiaries with birthdays from the 1st to the 10th of the month, who would normally receive their payment on Wednesday, November 11, will instead be paid on Tuesday, November 10. Following this adjustment, the SSA will return to the standard payment timetable on November 18 and November 25.
The full payment schedule for November 2026 is as follows:
- Birthdays 1st–10th: Tuesday, November 10
- Birthdays 11th–20th: Wednesday, November 18
- Birthdays 21st–31st: Wednesday, November 25
It is important to note that for individuals receiving Social Security benefits based on another person’s work record, the SSA determines the payment date using that other individual’s birthday.
