Sparks Suffer Early Deficit Against Sun at TD Garden

The turning point came midway through the third quarter as the Sun unleashed an 8-0 run, highlighted by an impressive three-point play from Olivia Nelson-Ododa. The momentum continued as Kennedy Burke drained a three-pointer, followed by a layup from Diamond Miller, prompting a timeout from the Sparks.

Los Angeles’ frontline, featuring Nneka Ogwumike who recorded 18 points and seven rebounds, and Dearica Hamby with 15 points, struggled to contain Connecticut’s dynamic attack. Meanwhile, Nelson-Ododa delivered a standout performance with 18 points and 11 rebounds, marking her fifth double-double of the season. Burke contributed 17 points, shooting 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, while Leila Lacan dished out a season-high 10 assists. Off the bench, Saniya Rivers added 11 points to support the Sun’s effort.

This game marked the third consecutive year the Sun have played at TD Garden, a venue they will leave behind as they prepare to relocate to Houston for the 2027 season.

The Sparks will look to break their losing streak when they return home to face the Atlanta Dream on Thursday at 10 PM ET, with the game broadcast on Prime.
