Martin Dubravka has become Tottenham Hotspur’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, arriving on a free transfer after departing Burnley at the conclusion of last season. The experienced goalkeeper, who has previously played for Newcastle United and Manchester United, is expected to provide vital cover between the posts as the club continues its squad overhaul under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Dubravka’s arrival signals potential changes within Tottenham’s goalkeeping department, particularly concerning Guglielmo Vicario. The Italian goalkeeper, who lost his starting spot late in the season to Antonin Kinsky, is reportedly preparing for a return to his homeland as Kinsky is expected to maintain his position as first-choice goalkeeper.

Strengthening the Squad with Experience and Leadership

Joining fellow new signings Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke, Dubravka is part of De Zerbi’s strategic rebuild designed to stabilize the team after a narrow escape from relegation in the Premier League.

Reflecting on the signing, De Zerbi expressed his satisfaction with the addition: “I am very happy because Martin is a goalkeeper with big experience and a strong mentality. He has very important qualities for me and will bring balance, leadership and competitiveness to our dressing room.”

Upon completing his move, Dubravka commented on the new chapter in his career: “Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started.”
