At the age of 80, Sylvester Stallone remains firmly committed to his career, emphatically stating that retirement is not on his horizon. Known worldwide for his iconic roles in the ‘Rocky’ and ‘Rambo’ franchises, Stallone currently stars in the television series ‘Tulsa King’, whose fourth season is set to debut in Spain on October 22. During a recent appearance on the show Live with Kelly and Mark, Stallone humorously addressed his future plans, revealing that stepping away from work is simply not an option for him.
“Oh, man, it’s almost embarrassing to say—but I can’t retire,” Stallone confessed, eliciting laughter from the studio audience. “I can’t retire—I’m serious!” His ongoing dedication to his craft underscores a relentless work ethic rarely seen in Hollywood veterans of his stature.
Aside from his professional life, Stallone is preparing for a significant family milestone: the upcoming wedding of his daughter, Sophia. Speaking warmly about her fiancé, Michael Sheehan, Stallone described him as “a great guy” and joked about the courage it must have taken Sheehan to propose, noting, “He must have been terrified!” The star also hinted at the considerable expenses that the wedding preparations might entail.
New Directions for the Rambo Franchise
In a notable development for fans of the action series, the upcoming ‘John Rambo’ prequel will mark a departure from Stallone’s on-screen involvement. Although Stallone had been developing a separate project aimed at digitally recreating a younger version of the character using AI technology, this concept never materialized. Instead, the new film will introduce a fresh face to the role, with Noah Centineo cast as the titular character.
Directed by Jalmari Helander, the prequel is set during the Vietnam War and promises to explore Rambo’s early years. Scheduled for an exclusive theatrical release on June 4, 2027, the film reflects a new chapter for the franchise. While Stallone remains involved as an executive producer, Centineo has revealed that he has yet to have a conversation with the veteran actor.
