Nicolo Tresoldi delivered a remarkable hat-trick that secured a thrilling 4-3 victory for Club Brugge against Inter Milan in a gripping Champions League encounter.
The scoring opened on the half-hour mark when Tresoldi converted a penalty after Hakan Calhanoglu fouled Carlos Forbs. Earlier in the match, Tresoldi had come close to scoring, hitting the post.
However, Lautaro Martinez brought the hosts level before halftime, expertly holding off his defender and finishing with precision following a slick combination from Marcus Thuram and Federico Dimarco on the left flank.
Brugge’s Defensive Pressure and Late Drama
Club Brugge regained the lead after a costly defensive error involving Inter’s goalkeeper Josep Martinez and his defense. Carlos Forbs capitalized by slipping the ball through the goalkeeper’s legs, setting up Tresoldi to score into an open net.
Completing his hat-trick in the 74th minute, Tresoldi seemed to put the match beyond doubt. Yet, Martinez responded seven minutes later with a goal that breathed new life into Inter’s hopes.
Still, Romeo Vermant extended Brugge’s advantage to 4-2 in the 87th minute. Although Ange-Yoan Bonny pulled a late goal back for Inter deep into stoppage time, it was ultimately a consolation as Brugge held on for a memorable win on enemy soil.
