European women’s club soccer returns with excitement this Tuesday as the 2026-27 UEFA Women’s Champions League league phase kicks off. With most men’s leagues paused for international fixtures, this midweek schedule offers a thrilling lineup of matches from some of the continent’s top teams.
The league phase features 18 teams, each competing in six matches—three at home and three on the road—against different opponents. After these encounters, the top four clubs will secure direct entry into the quarterfinals, while teams ranked fifth through twelfth will enter the knockout playoffs, intensifying the competition as the season progresses.
Tuesday’s Matchups Highlight English and Spanish Contenders
Tuesday’s slate opens early at 12:45 p.m. ET (9:45 a.m. PT) with two intriguing fixtures. German champions Bayern Munich will face off against Manchester City, who are making their debut in the revamped league-phase format. Meanwhile, Italian side Inter hosts Swedish club Häcken in their first-ever league phase appearance.
Later in the day, three more matches commence at 3 p.m. ET (noon PT). English powerhouse Arsenal, who claimed the European title in the 2024-25 season, will welcome Danish team HB Køge to their home ground. At the same time, Italian giants Juventus take on Portuguese club Benfica in Turin.
Arguably the most anticipated contest of the afternoon occurs in Madrid, where Real Madrid plays host to French stalwarts Paris Saint-Germain at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium. Real Madrid earned their spot by eliminating Ajax, while PSG aims to improve upon a disappointing previous campaign in which they failed to secure a single league-phase victory.
