Jazzy Davidson and JuJu Watkins have both been named to the Big Ten preseason all-conference team, marking a significant achievement for the USC women’s basketball program. USC stands alongside Michigan as the only schools to have multiple players featured on these preseason lists.

Highlighting her status, Watkins was also awarded the conference’s Preseason Player of the Year, while Davidson, entering her sophomore season, distinguished herself as the only sophomore recognized by both coaches and media members on the panel.

Jazzy Davidson Makes Big Impression in Freshman Year

Davidson, a standout from Portland, Oregon, impressed widely during her freshman campaign, producing statistics that few in the Big Ten could rival. Averaging 17.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, she uniquely led her entire Division I roster in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.

Her all-around excellence earned her the prestigious USBWA and WBCA National Freshman of the Year awards. Notably, Davidson was the only freshman to secure a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team that season, underscoring her exceptional impact as a newcomer.

JuJu Watkins Returns to USC on Top

Watkins is preparing to return for her senior season after missing the entire 2025/26 campaign due to a torn ACL. Prior to her injury, she dominated the 2024/25 NCAA basketball season by sweeping the nation’s most prestigious individual awards.

The combination of Davidson’s breakout freshman year and Watkins’ decorated return positions USC with strong leaders as they enter the new season, reflecting the program’s rising prominence within the Big Ten landscape.
