Real Madrid is on the verge of finalizing the transfer of Yan Diomande, following significant advances in discussions with Leipzig. The Ivory Coast winger is currently in Austria, training with Leipzig, as he awaits confirmation to travel to Madrid for his medical examination. The deal could be officially announced as soon as tomorrow.

Earlier today, Leipzig confirmed on their social channels that Diomande had rejoined training. Despite this, intensive negotiations with Real Madrid have been ongoing, indicating no cooling of the transfer process. The player’s late arrival to the training camp was reportedly due to illness, not any disruption in the transfer talks.

Record-breaking transfer on the horizon

Real Madrid is prepared to invest heavily in securing Diomande’s signature. Although initial reports suggested a fee around €120 million, recent discussions and Leipzig’s conditions suggest the final figure could exceed this amount. Should the transfer surpass €120 million, it would set a new record for Real Madrid, eclipsing previous high-profile signings such as Cristiano Ronaldo’s €117 million move.
