Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is set to launch in October, bringing a robust multiplayer experience alongside its single-player campaign. Bandai Namco has unveiled key details about the online features, highlighting a dedicated progression system and full cross-play support that enables players across compatible platforms to connect seamlessly.

The multiplayer component introduces an innovative hub known as the Air Base, which serves as a dynamic lobby capable of hosting up to 100 players. Here, pilots appear as customizable avatars, offering a social space to interact, form squads of up to four members for training, or explore between missions. Beyond combat preparation, the Air Base includes classic Bandai Namco arcade games and a Jukebox, playing music from earlier titles in the series, enriching the player experience within this virtual environment.

Engagement and Customization at the Air Base

Within the Air Base, players can visit the supply shop and the Ace Combat Store to spend in-game currency earned through online missions. These shops provide access to a variety of aircraft, performance upgrades, and a wide range of cosmetic options tailored for both aircraft and avatars. As players climb the multiplayer ranks, additional Air Base lobbies become available, expanding the social and strategic possibilities within the game’s online ecosystem.

Alongside co-op and player-versus-player (PvP) modes, these features collectively position Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve as a significant entry in the franchise’s multiplayer offerings, promising a rich, interactive experience that complements its core campaign.

For a closer look at the multiplayer setup and gameplay, Bandai Namco has released an official trailer, providing insight into the online mechanics and community features fans can anticipate at launch.
