Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the cast for its upcoming ‘X-Men’ film, set to be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The announcement came during the D23 event, a showcase for Disney’s latest projects, where alongside ‘X-Men,’ new details about Star Wars and Pixar productions were also revealed. Notably, the future of Hugh Jackman reprising his iconic role as Wolverine remains uncertain.
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, introduced the ensemble of actors who will bring the new generation of mutants to life. Leading the group as Professor Charles Xavier is Christopher Abbott. The cast also includes Sadie Sink portraying Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Inde Navarette taking on the role of Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Samara Weaving playing Emma Frost.
Adam Driver Cast as Mister Sinister
In a significant casting choice, Adam Driver will enter the Marvel universe as the villainous Mister Sinister. This marks Driver’s first foray into the superhero genre, despite Marvel’s persistent efforts to bring him aboard their franchise over the years. Driver is no stranger to complex antagonist roles, having previously portrayed Kylo Ren in the Star Wars saga, another major Disney franchise.
Behind the camera, the film will be directed by Jake Schreier, known for his work on ‘Thunderbolts.’ The new ‘X-Men’ installment is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028, promising to expand the MCU’s mutant narrative with fresh talent and a compelling villain.
