The 2026 MotoGP World Championship has reached its summer break, marking a pivotal halfway point in the season. With eleven rounds completed and eleven remaining, the battle for the title has tightened dramatically. A total of 407 points are still up for grabs, and the championship standings have narrowed to a thrilling contest.

Initially, the season appeared dominated by Aprilia, which seemed to have inherited the mantle from Ducati as the leading force. Marco Bezzecchi led the charge, asserting control with four wins in seven races—including an impressive streak of three consecutive victories—and two second-place finishes. Only Jorge Martín showed consistent form capable of challenging Bezzecchi’s supremacy early on.

Meanwhile, Marc Márquez struggled to match the pace, hampered by physical setbacks that eventually required surgery. Consequently, he missed the French and كتالونية Grands Prix, leaving his championship hopes in question as he lagged well behind the leaders.

A Stunning Turnaround

The turning point arrived at the seventh round in Mugello. Despite Bezzecchi securing his fourth victory, Márquez’s return from surgery left him trailing by a daunting 102 points. At this stage, a comeback seemed المزيد wishful thinking than a realistic possibility, reminiscent of the remarkable 2025 season but far from the Márquez fans had come to know.

Yet, what followed over the next four Grands Prix was a striking resurgence. Márquez clinched two consecutive doubles in Hungary and Germany, backed by another win and a podium finish in the Czech Republic. This sequence of results has dramatically cut the deficit from 102 points down to a mere 18 points, placing Márquez firmly back in contention for the world title.

As the championship now pauses for the summer, anticipation builds for the return to action at Silverstone from August 7 to 9. With the standings so close and the season’s second half unfolding, all eyes will be on Márquez’s pursuit of glory and whether he can maintain his momentum against the formidable challenge posed by Bezzecchi and Martín.
