The ongoing legal dispute between Maxidel Management and Roc Nation has unexpectedly delayed the anticipated signing of Yan Diomande by Real Madrid, a situation previously unknown to the Spanish club. The conflict forms part of a complex web of lawsuits involving the Ivorian midfielder’s former agencies.
The lawsuit initiated by Maxidel Management, the agency that formerly represented Yan Diomande, is currently obstructing the finalization of the player’s transfer from RB Leipzig to Real Madrid. Maxidel’s legal action targets Roc Nation, Diomande’s current agency, and revolves around disagreements concerning the transfer commission.
This dispute, now escalated to FIFA, has sparked considerable turmoil within Real Madrid. The club, having negotiated exclusively with Roc Nation—a global agency owned by rapper Jay-Z that also manages players like Vinicius Jr. and Endrick—was seemingly unaware of any ongoing legal proceedings with Maxidel, led by Max Gradel.
Financial Demands and Legal Complexities Complicate Transfer
Adding to the transfer complications is RB Leipzig’s firm financial stance, demanding a transfer fee exceeding €100 million for Diomande. Coupled with this, Maxidel asserts that it retains certain rights over the player until his departure from Leipzig. This claim introduces an additional obstacle that could delay or even jeopardize the deal.
Real Madrid now faces the possibility of having to negotiate simultaneously with both Roc Nation and Maxidel. Alternatively, the clubs might hope for a swift resolution between the two agencies, although such an agreement appears unlikely. Another potential outcome involves FIFA intervening to allow the transfer to proceed, at least temporarily, despite the ongoing dispute.
