After a summer of extensive roster changes, the coach has finally pinpointed the right formula to maximize the potential of his nearly new squad. It took several rounds for the team to find its rhythm, but recent matches suggest that the awaited transformation is underway. This shift began following a painful defeat at Zorrilla against Oviedo and just before the trip to Ceuta, when six starters were replaced and the tactical approach was altered, sparking a notable turnaround.

Several players, including Ramón Martínez, Balboa, Van Duiven, Clerc, De Rooij, and later Chacón due to injury, have been phased out of the starting lineup. Instead, fresh faces like Arnu, Víctor, Latasa, Garri, and Juric have been given opportunities, with results quickly following. The team now appears revitalized—more offensive, confident, and talented than before. While scoring five goals against the league’s bottom team shouldn’t lead to overexcitement, it is understandable that fans are finally enjoying the style and energy of their side.

Challenges Ahead

Despite the encouraging signs, the team must prove its progress in the upcoming fixtures. The next test is set to be more demanding against Eldense, coached by Leo Messi. Eldense comes off two consecutive wins and a strong performance in a loss at Burgos, so complacency is not an option for the Sunday clash. Following that, the team faces tough away matches against Granada and Sporting, before returning home to host Leganés at Zorrilla.

A key issue remains the inability to secure victories on the road, a challenge that Escribá still needs to overcome to solidify the team’s upward trajectory. If this obstacle is addressed, the squad’s recent revival could mark a lasting improvement.
