The Las Vegas Aces have enhanced their backcourt by signing rookie guard Ta’Niya Latson to a developmental contract, marking a new chapter in her 2026 WNBA season. This addition comes as the team adjusts its roster in pursuit of another championship run.
Latson the Latest in Las Vegas Aces Roster Moves
The move followed the release of veteran guard Chennedy Carter just one day prior, and came shortly after the Aces secured forward Justine Pissott on a contract for the remainder of the season. These changes reflect the team’s ongoing efforts to refine its lineup.
Originally drafted 20th overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2026, Latson saw limited action in her rookie campaign, appearing in 10 games and averaging 1.8 points per contest before being waived on July 6th.
Despite a slow start to her professional career, Latson’s collegiate achievements remain impressive. She led the nation with an average of 25.2 points per game as a junior at Florida State before transferring to South Carolina. There, she played a pivotal role in guiding the Gamecocks to the 2026 NCAA championship game.
Joining the Aces offers Latson the opportunity to develop her skills alongside four-time MVP and fellow South Carolina alum A’ja Wilson. The team aims to boost its bench scoring potential with Latson’s addition as they gear up for the postseason.
