The Pokémon Trading Card Game is set to make a significant return to the Mega Evolution series with the upcoming Delta Reign expansion, marking the comeback of Mega Rayquaza EX after an absence spanning over a decade. This highly anticipated release will bring fresh strategic elements and a roster of new cards to players and collectors alike.

Announced as the closing chapter for this year’s Mega Evolution expansions, Delta Reign reintroduces Mega Rayquaza EX, last seen in the XY—Ancient Origins expansion, which debuted 11 years ago. Alongside this iconic Pokémon, the expansion will also unveil Mega Golurk EX, Mega Malamar EX, and Mega Golisopod EX, expanding the lineup of powerful Mega Evolution Pokémon available to players.

New Gameplay Dynamics with Legendary Stadiums

Beyond the introduction of new Pokémon, Delta Reign innovates with the addition of Legendary Stadiums, a novel gameplay mechanic designed to influence match strategies. These Legendary Stadiums are formed by pairing two Stadium cards, which, when played together, create an extended, visually striking artwork that not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also introduces new tactical interactions within the game.

Players can expect a diverse array of cards in this expansion, including:

  • Four Mega Evolution Pokémon EX
  • Six Pokémon EX
  • Six Stadium cards that combine to form three Legendary Stadiums
  • Fourteen illustration rare Pokémon
  • Seventeen ultra-rare Pokémon and Trainer cards
  • Six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards

For those eager to experience Delta Reign, the official release is scheduled for November 6 across stores. However, enthusiasts won’t have to wait until then to dive into the new content; prerelease tournaments will begin on October 24 at select locations, offering an early opportunity to explore the expansion’s offerings.
