Bayern Munich, the reigning German champions, have secured the signing of Moroccan forward Ismael Saibari from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Wednesday. Although the financial terms were not officially revealed, media outlets estimate the transfer fee to be around 55 million euros (approximately $63 million).

Currently representing Morocco at the ongoing FIFA World Cup hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada, Saibari will complete his move to Munich once the tournament concludes, according to Bayern’s official announcement.

The 25-year-old attacker initially joined PSV in 2020, transferring from Belgian side Genk. Over the course of 142 appearances for the Dutch club, Saibari found the net 42 times across all competitions, demonstrating consistent offensive prowess.

Proven Impact and Ambitions at Bayern

Saibari’s most impressive season came last year, when he scored 15 goals in just 27 Eredivisie matches, significantly contributing to PSV’s capture of their third consecutive league title. His performances have established him as a vital figure in the squad.

Reflecting on the transfer, Saibari expressed his excitement about joining one of football’s elite institutions. “As a child, you dream of signing a contract with a club like FC Bayern. Everybody knows it’s one of the world’s biggest clubs,” he said. “FC Bayern compete for the biggest titles like the Champions League every year, and I want to win as many trophies as possible here.”

On the international stage, Saibari has been instrumental in Morocco’s World Cup campaign. He scored decisive goals in the group stage victories over Scotland (1-0) and Haiti (4-2), and successfully converted the final penalty in Morocco’s shootout win against the Netherlands during the round of 32.
