Newcastle United have officially named Matthias Jaissle as their new head coach, following the exit of Eddie Howe. The 38-year-old German joined the club during their pre-season training camp held in La Manga, Spain.
In a statement, the Premier League side expressed their enthusiasm over Jaissle’s appointment, highlighting the arrival of one of Europe’s most promising young managers to Tyneside.
From Salzburg and Al-Ahli to Newcastle
Jaissle’s coaching credentials are impressive, marked by notable achievements across Europe and the Middle East. His recent tenure at Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli saw him guide the team to consecutive AFC Champions League victories, underscoring his capability to succeed at high levels of competition.
Before his stint in Saudi Arabia, Jaissle made a name for himself in European football through his work with Red Bull Salzburg, where he earned a reputation as a forward-thinking and tactically astute coach.
Newcastle’s decision to entrust the club’s future to Jaissle reflects a strategic move aimed at building on their ambitions with a fresh and dynamic managerial approach.
